Before and After School Care

We make it easier for you to juggle your work life balance by offering before and after school care to children enrolled at St. James School and at St. Augustine School. These programs provide a complementary learning environment for your child’s education.

Our before and after school care aligns with Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework called Flight. This emergent curriculum is focused on children's interests and supports their play and explorations within a responsive learning environment. Play gives children the opportunity to question, communicate, solve problems and develop critical and abstract thinking skills.

Physical literacy is also an important part of our programming. We encourage indoor and outdoor activities for children to develop their gross motor skills with confidence and mastery.

Before and After school Care features:
- Programming on professional development (pd) days with the exception of Faith Day, Christmas closure, and Spring closure.
- Cooking, science, art, gross motor development, and team building activities
- Regularly planned events and field trips
- Quiet space for homework with educators available for assistance

All snacks are provided by parents, and staff members encourage children to take time for a nutrition break.
